Effective environmental leadership depends on working and collaborating with others. Boreas creates opportunities for students to connect to, learn from and work with diverse environmental leaders and each other. Events feature working environmental leaders talking candidly about key environmental leadership issues with time for discussion, questions and mingling.
Join Boreas for our monthly Insights and Inspirations networking events. Events feature working environmental leaders talking candidly about key environmental leadership and career issues. Events are open to UMN graduate and professional students and post-docs along with staff and faculty. No RSVP is required.

All events run from 4:30 to 6:00 p.m. in Learning and Environmental Sciences Room R350. Food and drink are provided.
February 21
Special Guest - Mike Conley, Founder & CEO of Weathering the Storm LLC
Mike is a former business executive, author, lecturer and Chairman and CEO of the Conley Family Foundation. He is a graduate of the University of Minnesota.
March 28
Special Guest - May Boeve,Co-Founder and Executive Director of 350.org
May is the executive director of 350.org, which works to build a global grassroots movement to solve the climate crisis. A graduate of Middlebury College, May founded 350.org wit a Bill McKibben and a group of college friends, and the organization now organize thousands of people around the world.

Special Guest - John Linc Stine, Commissioner of the Minnesota Pollution Control Agency
John Linc Stine directs the Minnesota Pollution Control Agency (MPCA). Prior to his work at the MPCA, John worked at the Department of Natural Resources, Department of Health. He earned his degree in soil and water resource management at the University of Minnesota.
