Todd Reubold is the director of communications and public affairs for the Institute on the Environment.
Todd has played a central role in developing and implementing IonE’s communications plan—from shaping media strategy and national advertising campaigns to expanding the scope of events and multimedia efforts.
He also serves as director and founding editor of the Institute’s award-winning Ensia magazine. Ensia showcases solutions to the Earth’s most pressing environmental challenges.
In addition to these roles, he leads communications workshops as part of the Boreas Leadership Program and has developed an informative and slightly irreverent talk – “Fight the Power(point)!” – for scientists and others wishing to become better presenters.
Reubold brings a solid range of professional experience from business, government and nonprofit sectors to the IonE, along with a master’s degree in science, technology and environmental policy from the University of Minnesota’s Humphrey School of Public Affairs.
Outside of work, he enjoys traveling with his wife, playing tennis, hiking with his dog, and downhill skiing.
