Thanks for a great year!
As the school year wraps up, we here at Boreas are grateful for the many folks across the University of Minnesota who joined in our programming. Boreas only works well when great people show up to connect with each other around developing leadership capabilities and connections. And you did! We believe all our participants can contribute acts of leadership that bring us all closer to a more sustainable world. Thanks for being involved.
Our spring weekly booyas had a unifying theme of international environmental leadership, and we had some thought-provoking conversations. If you missed them, check out some of our inspiration for discussion including power poses, the disease of being busy, and learning from failure.
We got visits from some fantastic leaders in our community. Pakou Hang’s discussion about her work with the Hmong American Farmers Association was a great example of leadership aimed toward changing systems. Former Minnesota Secretary of State Mark Ritchie got us excited about a World’s Fair coming to Minnesota.
Through it all, students from all over campus honed their leadership skills through Boreas workshops. From integrative leadership to giving a great media interview, we got inspired by the commitment Boreas participants demonstrate to becoming the leaders we need to create a better future.
As we wrap us this year of programming, we’re also looking ahead. We’ve got a program evaluation underway that we will use to improve Boreas moving forward. Check out the Boreas website later this summer to see the fall workshop schedule and booya topics, and learn more about new programming directions.
