Acara Challenge Judging: Domestic Division

The Acara Challenge is a competition for students with ideas for financially sustainable social ventures that address social and environmental challenges. Students receive intensive training and mentoring to learn how to best pitch their ideas at the competition, then compete for up to $500 in competition prizes and $5,000 in fellowship funding. Applications are accepted from students from all majors and in all stages of project development.

10:15 – 10:45 am The Local Beat is a marketing ecosystem promoting prosperity for small, local farmers by revolutionizing logistics, purchasing power, safety and what consumers know about their food.
10:45 – 11:15 am Visible Planet is an app/web tool that improves accessibility to resources for low income, refugee, and immigrant communities while simultaneously building an invaluable database to facilitate data driven social impact and policy formation.
11:15 – 11:45 am Folx Because shopping should be easy for any body. We provide one e-commerce story for transgender people to find the products they are looking for.
