Climate Change Communications Workshops

FreeIn a world of increasing diversity of perspectives, it is a skill to be able to listen and converse in a constructive manner. Graduate students will develop and hone these skills as it relates to climate change science and communication. Experts in the field will teach, facilitate, and practice these skills with us. Students will leave these sessions with a firm grasp on successful communication frameworks and skills. Hosted by the Institute on the Environment Graduate Programs.

Session 1: Friday, April 16th 1:00-2:30pm
- Join Susan Joy Hassel, a climate change communicator, analyst, and author known for her ability to translate science into English, making complex issues accessible to policymakers and the public for 30 years.
Session 2: Friday, April 23rd 1:00-2:30pm
- Karin Kirk, a freelance writer focused on science will be with us. Karin believes the benefits of scientific advancements are only fully realized when they are shared with a broad audience. She’ll be sharing how to create appealing and practical messages that show the usefulness, impact, and downright awesomeness of science.
