[DEI Brown Bag Series] Tribes, Sustainable Forestry and Land Use

November 12, 2019 @ 12:00 pm - 1:30 pm

Free

How can the University of Minnesota support tribal sovereignty and foster collaborative and respectful research relationships with American Indian nations and community members?  Learn why supporting sustainable and indigenous forestry systems should be a big part of our answer to that question, for our campuses, outreach centers, communities and our public lands. For many generations, tribal nations and indigenous communities have planned and managed natural resources. That success can teach us how to take care of lands and forests. For all of us, Traditional Ecological Knowledge holds important insights into sustainable forestry and management of land.

Join in a presentation and conversation with Michael Dockry, Assistant Professor, Department of Forest Resources.
