About the Speaker:
Dr. Fayola Jacobs is an Assistant Professor at the Humphrey School with expertise in environmental planning, climate change, gender, race and ethnicity, urban and regional planning. Her graduate research focused on interrogating disaster mitigation plans and policies through a Black feminist lens. Before graduate school, Dr. Jacobs worked for a mental health agency, creating and facilitating anti-oppression workshops on migration, racism and mental health.
About the Series:
The seminar series will feature four practitioners and academics who are leading examples of integrating justice into research, policy, education, and building community.
The series is funded through the Natural Resource Association of Graduate Students, the Natural Resource Science and Management program, and the Minneapolis-Saint Paul Long Term Ecological Research Project.
