Jim Kuipers, international expert on financial assurance for mining, will present a seminar on the use of financial assurance regulations to moderate externality costs in copper-nickel mining, using the PolyMet NorthMet project as a case study. Mr. Kuipers will discuss the financial assurance proposal for the NorthMet mine and how that proposal compares to similar mining operations throughout the country.
