World Climate Simulation Facilitation Workshop, 2-Part [Wednesdays]
November 18, 2020 @ 2:00 pm - November 25, 2020 @ 3:45 pm
An event every week that begins at 2:00 pm on Wednesday, repeating until November 18, 2020
Sign up for free training in a uniquely interactive approach to immersing your students in climate and energy policy challenges at a global scale. You will get the experience of being in a simulation yourself, and see the highlights of free, easy-to-use online guides. You will be prepared to facilitate a simulation with your students in your own college or high school class, environmental center, youth program, student club or other educational setting. Best for high school and up.
The World Climate Simulation Facilitation Workshop & Debriefing
- On Wed November 11, 2-3:15 pm, in Part 1 of the workshop, learn about the science and policy choices that are possible within the World Climate Simulation and get prepared to actively participate in the following week’s session.
- On Wed November 18, 2-3:45 pm in Part 2 of the workshop, participate in a World Climate Simulation and experience for yourself what has activated so many people, including students, around the world.
- On Fri November 20, a debriefing session will invite reflection on the World Climate Simulation experience and invite ways to take action. It will occur Fri Nov 20 at 3 pm. After the workshop, you will be invited to this recommended, but optional, session.
To sign up, register for both dates on the Eventbrite here.
This same workshop is also being offered November 13 and November 20. If that schedule is better, sign up at z.umn.edu/ClimateWorkshopNov13_20
This training is funded through an Institute on the Environment (IonE) mini-grant, and the simulations were developed through funding by NSF and other partners.
Another Workshop Opportunity – Climate Action Simulation
This World Climate Simulation workshop may be taken independently or in conjunction with the Climate Action Simulation workshop, which is being offered in December by the same presenter team. Learn more at z.umn.edu/ClimateWorkshopDec2_9 or z.umn.edu/ClimateWorkshopDec4_11
