Fellows have been essential members of the IonE community since it began; they have helped establish IonE as one of the premier environmental institutes in the country. The current affiliates program has offerings for early-career faculty, visiting scholars, sustainability educators, and established interdisciplinary scholars and professionals. Affiliates come from across the University of Minnesota system and beyond.
The 2020 call for new affiliates is currently closed.
Benefits of affiliation include opportunities to interact with fellow environmental scholars and professionals, eligibility for IonE grants, and the use of IonE facilities for research and meetings, among other perks. In return, affiliates are expected to contribute to the IonE community through engaging in events and other collaborative and interdisciplinary activities.
Review the program document (linked above) for application instructions, additional information about benefits and responsibilities, and descriptions of each of the categories of affiliation. All applications require at least one letter of nomination/support. Individuals may affiliate with IonE in one of four categories:
IonE Fellows are senior researchers and thought-leaders that form the intellectual foundation of IonE.
IonE Educators focus on the development of new curriculum.
