An award from the United States Agency for International Development supports teams of faculty from six University of Minnesota colleges working in West and East Africa to build capacity for animal health. The award has the potential to unite the health and environmental sciences at the University into a coherent global health program. IonE funding for “Global Health and the Environment in Africa” is being used to leverage the USAID investment, broaden the scope of collaborative efforts, support student travel programs and provide matching funds for future grant opportunities.
