Welcome to our new class of IonE Affiliates

The Institute on the Environment was founded on the insight that our world’s greatest challenges won’t be solved by working in silos, but rather by working together. In the past 10 years, our interdisciplinary network of collaborative, creative IonE Affiliates has grown dramatically – and this year, we are pleased to welcome 34 new individuals into its formal ranks.

Those inductees include 14 new IonE Fellows, distinguished intellectual contributors representing a range of disciplines and fields of professional expertise. IonE is also welcoming 14 new early- and mid-career Associates, including four from the University of Minnesota, Duluth.

There is also a new cohort of IonE Educators, hailing from Crookston, Duluth, and the Twin Cities. These five individuals work on specific projects during their year-long term, designed to advance sustainability in curriculum across the University. Last but not least, IonE also welcomes a new Visiting Scholar: meteorologist and writer Eric Holthaus.

Please join us in welcoming these 34 accomplished individuals to our Affiliates program. As we say at IonE: Together, we create the future.
