Student Group Environmental Activity Grants

DEADLINE:    Monday, March 17, 2008 or until funds are depleted

The Institute on the Environment is now accepting applications from all official student organizations at the University of Minnesota for the funding of projects and activities in spring 2008. This funding will support work in sustainability and the environment both on campus and in the community.

The Institute will award up to $20,000 total for projects and activities in Minnesota and elsewhere, or for expanding a student organization’s environmental efforts. Individual applicants may seek up to $5,000 in non-recurring funds. Collaborative projects involving several clubs or organizations are strongly encouraged. Smaller projects are also welcome. Only equipment and supply purchases that are directly required for the project or activity will be covered by the grant.

Eligibility Criteria:

  • Proposals must present a project or activity that addresses broad
environmental or sustainability concerns, on campus and/or in the community.

  • Student organizations must be currently registered with the University of Minnesota Student Unions and Activities office and in good standing with the University, and must possess a faculty sponsor.

  • All club or organization applicants must be currently enrolled at the University of Minnesota and in good standing.

Read the full RFP carefully for details on the application and evaluation process, and guidelines for the project proposal.
