The National Institute of Standards and Technology is soliciting proposals for the Technology Innovation Program. This program supports research on technologies for inspecting, monitoring and evaluating critical components of the nation's roadways, bridges, and drinking and wastewater systems. LCCMR Request for Proposals: Phase 2
The Legislative-Citizen Commission on Minnesota Resources 2009 Request for Proposals is now in its second phase. Requests are open to everyone in Phase 2; proposals are requested in four areas, including: Land and Habitat; Water Quality; Invasive Species; and Energy. Proposal deadline: Oct. 1, 2008. more>>

Climate Change and Allergies
The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency requests proposals for the Climate Change and Allergic Airway Disease Grant. Through this program, the EPA seeks research on the impact of global change on the development and severity of allergic airway disease from exposure to pollen, mold and other plant-derived allergens. Outstanding New Environmental Scientist Award
With this award, the National Institutes of Health aim to identify scientists who are in the early, formative stages of their careers and who plan to make a long-term commitment to researching problems of environmental exposures and human biology, pathophysiology and disease. Science of Science and Innovation Policy Grant
The Directorate for Social, Behavioral and Economic Sciences at the National Science Foundation aims to support the knowledge, theories, data and tools needed to cultivate a new Science of Science and Innovation Policy. This program underwrites research on explanatory models, analytic tools and datasets designed to inform the public and private sectors. Application deadline: Dec. 16, 2008. more>>

Loans for Efficiency, Renewables
The DOE is offering $10 billion in loan guarantees for projects involving energy efficiency, renewable energy and advanced transmission and distribution. The agency is seeking projects relating to biomass, geothermal, solar and wind energy, as well as projects involving hydropower, alternative fuel vehicles and energy efficiency.
