Andrea is a visiting research scholar with the Global Landscapes Initiative. She is researching the relationship between land use change, native vegetation loss and socioeconomic dynamics in the Amazon’s arc of deforestation. She graduated with a B.S. in biological sciences, and a minor in environmental economics. She obtained her master’s degree in applied ecology (environmental modelling) from the University of São Paulo, which included a visiting research period with the Forest Ecology group at University of Cambridge. In 2015 she enrolled into the same interdisciplinary program to obtain a PhD. On her free time Andrea enjoys books, movies, hiking, travelling, and Italian cuisine.
