Bethany is a Ph.D. candidate in the department of Mechanical Engineering. She studies new methodologies and software tools for mechanical design in the age of big data, focusing on novel computation modeling and simulation tools. A native of Iowa, she obtained her B.S. in Mechanical Engineering and an M.S. in Human Computer Interaction and Mechanical Engineering at Iowa State University. In her free time, Bethany enjoys pulling weeds in her garden, tending to her urban honeybee colony and playing sand volleyball.
