Recently, a new class of materials called perovskites have revolutionized the field of solar cells. They have the potential to enable cheap, flexible solar cells and encourage their widespread implementation, and thus are an important pathway to mitigate climate change. Unfortunately, most perovskites for solar cells contain toxic lead. I am working on developing a method to fabricate and study lead-free perovskites for solar cells.
