Emma DeVries is a PhD candidate in Geography at the University of Minnesota. Her research is focused on the ways theology and religious institutions have shaped modern configurations of race, colonialism, and human-environment relationships; which she studies in the context of contemporary evangelical climate politics. Emma holds an M.T.S. in Theological Studies from Duke University, and in addition to her schooling, Emma has worked in community organizing (on immigration and climate change) and service-learning in higher education over the past decade.
