Jeff brings a breadth of scientific and organizational expertise to IonE that stems from his research background in earth sciences. Before joining IonE, he served as the assistant director of strategy and training for the Flavor Research and Education Center in the College of Food, Agricultural and Natural Resource Sciences. Prior to joining the UMN community, Jeff managed the curriculum development group for the Office of Professional Education at American Chemical Society. In his new role for IonE, Jeff’s responsibilities are focused on building a suite of professional development opportunities that jointly leverage IonE’s talent in discovery and education while simultaneously enhancing the impact we create via collaborative partnerships.
Outside of work Jeff enjoys family outings to Saints’ games, the St. Paul farmers market, and going “up to da lake” with his wife Cara Santelli, 3-year-old son Kai and trusty pooch Ranger. He stays active through hockey, camping, skiing, basketball and chasing Kai, and occasionally finds time to relax with gardening and cooking.
