A proud Gopher, Ryan J. Machtmes is a doctoral student of evaluation studies in the College of Education and Human Development’s Department of Organizational Leadership, Policy, and Development. Ryan’s research centers around applications of quantitative research and evaluation methodology in studies of education policy, with particular interest in postsecondary education and critical disability policy. Ryan is committed to environmental stewardship, equity and diversity issues, and servant leadership, on and off campus. In addition to service to the Boreas leadership program, Ryan serves as a CEHD Student Senator, as Vice President for the Organization for Graduate and Professional Students with Disabilities (a support and advocacy organization he cofounded for graduate and professional students with disabilities and their allies and advocates), as Chair of the Equity and Diversity Committee for the Council of Graduate Students, COGS representative to the Graduate Education Council and Marcy Holmes Neighborhood Association, and as part of the Bias Response Referral Network. Before beginning his doctoral program, Ryan served in Federal agency in Washington, DC as a statistician and Presidential Management Fellow. In his spare time, Ryan sleeps and imagines having more spare time!
