Xavier Gilbert

Xavier Gilbert is a research scientist with IonE’s Global Landscapes Initiative. His research examines the relationships between climate and weather variability, agricultural productivity and volatility on commodities markets. The end goal of this research is to provide a base for the elaboration of new strategies that can contribute to enhance food security at regional and national levels.

Xavier has a background in mathematics, engineering and agronomy, and used to work in commodity trading doing quantitative analysis. He is currently on leave from his doctoral research at Imperial College London (UK). Xavier spends his spare time exploring cities, doing cuisine experiments, and cycling around.
