Welcome to #SustAction! Since 2009, the Institute on the Environment has opened its doors to more than 6,000 incoming University of Minnesota first year and transfer students, who have the opportunity to connect with student groups, UMN departments, and community organizations working toward sustainable lifestyles, communities, and more. Presented by Sustainability Education and the U’s Office of Sustainability, this one-day open house is part of the University of Minnesota Welcome Week festivities.
#SustAction! is an opportunity for undergraduates to learn about resources on and off campus related to sustainability. Come join us for trivia and activities, fun prizes, and engaging conversations about research, innovation, and how students can get involved. SustAction! aims to be both educational and fun – and this year’s event will again be zero-waste with the help from UMN’s Recycling Team!
Participating students will find four different spaces to “drink up” ideas with our water theme:
- The Well: Fill your bucket by connecting with other students passionate about sustainability.
- The River: Swim on over to learn about related departments and local community partners.
- The Lake: Jump in to check out how you can live sustainably on campus.
- The Tap: See if you can taste the difference in local tap waters – in partnership with Water Bar!
