Challenge of Science Leadership Workshop

Are you…

  • seeking to engage new partners that enliven your science?
  • in need of skills to strategize your solutions based work?
  • wishing to influence others over whom you have little authority?

Then this course is for you!

This training is custom made for scientists, academics and professionals working in the environment and sustainability sectors.

The course will provide you with an integrated leadership tool kit for use on your own ideas/material during the course. The tools can be put to work immediately after the course has finished.

Course participants have told us they realised greater clarity about their work and career. They feel more in control and have greater confidence about what they can achieve.

The Barefoot Thinking Company, March 2016

Past course participants have come away with greater clarity about their work and career. And they feel more in control and have greater confidence about what they can achieve over the long term.

Course Content

The course provides a set of tools and interactive learning experiences with a focus on 3 key areas:

Day 1: Creative and Strategic Thinking – Encouraging individuals and groups to think more creatively and strategically about key problems and opportunities.

Day 2: Influencing Behaviour – Practical leadership tools and strategies for effective communication with people inside and outside your organisation.

Day 3: Enabling Action – Tools for the development of effective strategies and networks around your big ideas and projects. Sessions on time management and action planning are included to enable participants to implement course practices in the workplace.

The course will start each day at 9:00 am and will end at 5:30 pm on the Days 1 and 2. On Day 3 the course will finish at 5:00 pm.

The tool box I took away from the course is of great use. The added unexpected bonus was how inspiring it was to spend 3 days in a room full of engaged, smart, forward thinking people. An incredibly positive and enlightening situation to be in.

University Professor

The course went beyond my expectations. I came out inspired: full of ideas about how to change the way I work to increase productivity and interact better with others.
