Climate Conversations: Knowledge, Attitudes, and Practices of Health Professionals in Minnesota

June 26 @ 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm

Free

About the Event:

The content of the webinar is designed for nurses. Other health professionals are welcome.

Health professionals are the most trusted voices in our society, yet many are not prepared with climate knowledge to help our patients and communities adapt. This talk will cover the findings of two research studies led by the Minnesota Department of Health and provide summaries, tools, and next steps to engage the public to promote adaptation to the health impacts of climate change.

At the end of this session, participants will be able to:

  1. Describe health impacts that are currently seen in Minnesota related to climate change
  2. Review the role of health professionals as trusted voices to teach patients and communities about climate change
  3. List tools that can be used to advance the climate knowledge of health professionals

Participants can earn 1.0 continuing nursing education contact hours.

Washington State University College of Nursing is approved as a provider of nursing continuing professional development by Oregon Nurses Association, an accredited approver by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commission on Accreditation.
