Duluth Power Dialog 2021 Session 1 – Fossil Fuel Assets: Who Pays? Who Decides?

March 27, 2021 @ 1:00 pm - 2:00 pm

The Duluth Power Dialog is an annual spring event, hosted and moderated by students at the University of Minnesota Duluth (UMD) enrolled in Anth3300 Energy, Culture, Society.

Students have invited Adam Dorr, Ph.D., to talk about his new study on the dangerous financial bubble forming around investments in fossil fuel assets that become “stranded” as costs of wind and solar energy disrupt energy markets. To help us understand what this means for our region, students have invited local legal and citizen experts to offer insight on regional energy law (Paul Blackburn, attorney for Honor the Earth), utility regulation (Buddy Robinson, MN Citizens’ Federation NE).

We welcome all people to come, listen and converse online, guided by questions from UMD students, our new generation of citizens! The Duluth Power Dialog is a free, open civic conversation.
