*New* Accessibility in Research Roundtable Discussion

April 1, 2022 @ 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm

Free
While considerable focus has been placed on increasing accessibility for participants within research studies, less attention has been given to providing equitable access support for those who conduct research. Researchers with access needs can encounter substantial barriers in their work, especially young scholars who are still learning the practice from their advisors and mentors.

This roundtable discussion features scholars who have experience navigating access barriers in research practices. Speaking from various disciplinary homes and stages in their careers, panelists will address the challenges and successes they encounter, the mentorship they receive, and advice for how to help support people who have access barriers in research spaces and processes. Time will be reserved for Q&A and discussion.

Presenters:
  • Walter Wu, Doctoral Student, Department of Psychology
  • Erin Durban, PhD, Assistant Professor, Department of Anthropology
  • Nathan Stenberg, Doctoral Candidate, Department of Theater, Arts, and Dance
  • Angela Carter, PhD, Pedagogy Specialist, Minnesota Transforms
