I research how proteins help to attain other proteins their final active conformation. Proteins, as many other things, to be able to fulfill their function must have the right form and shape so to speak, just like a chair or a table have a particular form and structure that allows them to fulfill their role as chair and table. There are proteins that are master regulators of this process and I study though biophysics how is it that they sense protein misfolding.
