Thi Nguyen

Thi Nguyen (pronounced: tee-newen, pronouns: she/her/hers) is pursuing a Ph.D. in Comparative and International Development Education at the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities. Thi is originally from Hanoi, Vietnam but calls Sunnyvale, California her home.
As a former international student mentor, coordinator of youth exchange programs, and graduate school recruiter, Thi possesses a strong background in project management, program evaluation, partnership-building, and student coaching. Her academic interests include critical internationalization of higher education, transnational belonging of international students, AAPI (Asian, Asian-American, and Pacific Islander) identities in Western contexts, education for global citizenship, sustainability education, and the role of higher education in advancing and/or inhibiting climate justice.
Coming to IonE, she looks forward to connecting with equity-minded students, colleagues, and community partners to foster an inclusive, anti-racist, and sustainable future for all.
