Caleb Masi
Background & Expertise
Caleb Masi is a pre-law undergraduate at the University of Minnesota’s Carlson School of Management, studying Finance and Risk Management Insurance with minors in Business Law and Sociology of Law, Criminology, and Justice. A John Parsinen Memorial Scholar in Business Law and Student Representative to the University’s Board of Regents, he is interested in how institutions shape people’s rights, opportunities, and participation in public life.
He explores these questions through work with the University’s Human Rights Center and Human Rights Program, connecting legal research with advocacy and international institutions. His research on sustainable finance and organizational belonging, alongside corporate strategy experience at Pentair and Chief Executives for Corporate Purpose, informs his perspective on business accountability, while participation in OpenAI’s ChatGPT and Product Labs extends that perspective to emerging technology.
Study at Korea University’s International Winter Campus and academic programming involving Peking University, Tongji University, and the Chinese Academy of Sciences have added an international dimension to these interests, deepening his understanding of how management, urban development, and public policy shape communities across different contexts.
These experiences inform his goal of pursuing a JD/PhD focused on socio-legal studies, jurisprudence, and social policy.
