Water and Land

Integrated stewardship of water resources and landscapes

How do we sustain landscapes for future generations?

Land use and water systems are deeply intertwined. Decisions made about one ripple into the other, across property lines, jurisdictions and time horizons. And the challenges facing both systems – from agricultural runoff and drought to habitat loss and competing community demands – rarely respect the boundaries we draw around them. IonE experts work across terrestrial and aquatic boundaries, developing the science, tools and policy frameworks that help people steward land and water in ways that are durable, equitable and environmentally sound.
