Participating in the Germany Study Abroad program gave me the confidence and perspective to pursue a Master’s degree in Germany, something I never would have considered before. It helped me make meaningful connections, build cross-cultural skills and clarify my academic and career goals.

Want to support a local sustainability project? Apply to join the Institute on the Environment's Undergraduate Leaders program by Sunday, September 20!

Hear from Hugo Breese, a Political Science and Spanish Studies student who participated on the Falcon Heights team this past academic year:

"The IonE Undergraduate Leaders program was an incredible opportunity to work alongside brilliant students passionate about the environment and climate action.

Getting a chance to collaborate on a year-long project really gives you a sense of the possibility of change; our small group, with the help of the facilitation team and our wonderful mentor, managed to make a real impact on a sustainability-related problem!

On a personal level, the program helped me understand my own strengths and leadership style.

I have carried the lessons from my time on the Falcon Heights team into every activity I have done since, from schoolwork to advocacy to internships.

I feel very grateful to have been a part of the 2025–26 cohort.”
