A network of over 200 established sustainability experts, spanning all five University of Minnesota campuses and representing a wide range of disciplines.

The Institute on the Environment's Affiliates program also offers formal affiliation for early-career faculty and researchers through the associates cohort experience.

Who are IonE Fellows?

IonE Fellows are established leaders whose work advances environmental scholarship and practice. They bring expertise from across disciplines, with a demonstrated record of applying their research or professional experience to address environmental challenges in collaboration with communities and partners.

Fellows engage with IonE in several ways:

Contributing expertise to IonE initiatives and strategic priorities
Collaborating with other affiliates, staff and students
Mentoring early-career members of the IonE community
Presenting research and ideas at IonE seminars, workshops and events
Serving on committees that help shape IonE programs

As affiliates of the Institute, fellows also have opportunities to pursue new collaborations and engage with colleagues advancing sustainability solutions.

Being part of the IonE community helped me approach environmental challenges from different perspectives and extend our research in more impactful directions.
