Kata Hahn

Background & Expertise

Kata Hahn (she/her) is the executive assistant to Jessica Hellmann, PhD. She provides high-level administrative and strategic support and serves as a key logistical liaison for the Institute on the Environment’s advisory boards and councils. A Macalester College alumna with a Bachelor of Art in biology and a minor in public health, Hahn’s academic background sparked her interest in the intersection of environmental resilience and human well-being. 

She is particularly driven by IonE’s commitment to real-world applicability and creating tangible change. With experience ranging from serving as a fulbright scholar in Serbia to conducting field research in Ecuador, Hahn spent over three years living and working abroad. These experiences shaped her into an adaptable communicator who excels at finding common ground across diverse groups.

Hahn enjoys the challenge of bridging technical details with big-picture goals. Whether she is navigating schedules or facilitating outreach, she is focused on fostering the efficient, collaborative environment needed to meet shared goals and address complex sustainability challenges. Outside of work, she enjoys traveling, playing guitar and tossing around a frisbee.
