Manzura Allabergenova

Background & Expertise

Manzura Allabergenova (she/her/hers) is a PhD student in the comparative and international development education program at the University of Minnesota. She brings her expertise in advising, student success initiatives and program development to her graduate research assistant role at the Institute on the Environment, supporting IonE’s mission of advancing sustainability through leadership development and inclusive community building. 

Allabergenova has contributed to campus-wide efforts in student leadership development, retention, first-year transition, and international partnership while working at Kent State University, Ohio, where she completed her master’s degree in higher education administration and student affairs. As a former EducationUSA adviser in her home country of Turkmenistan, she mentored prospective international students in pursuing undergraduate and graduate degrees in the U.S., implemented national programs and initiatives, and partnered with the U.S. higher education institutions to help students achieve their academic and career goals. 

She is passionate about international education, and her academic interests include the internationalization of higher education in Central Asia and the U.S.
