Marin Byrne

Marin Byrne (she/her) is the director of donor relations and advancement operations for the Institute on the Environment. In this role, she is passionate about securing resources to support work that makes the world a better place, and creating opportunities for people to live their values through action by supporting sustainability work across the University of Minnesota. She has more than two decades of fundraising experience for causes including improving the sustainability of the global food system, eliminating structural race-based inequity in North Minneapolis, and building equity in outdoor recreation. She has a master's degree in natural resources science and management from the University of Minnesota, and is an alum of the Humphrey policy fellows program as well. Outside of work, she finds joy in riding her bicycle for long distances, hiking in the woods with her dog and gathering with friends and family around a shared meal.
