Background & Expertise

Chan Lan Chun, PhD, is a professor in the Swenson College of Science and Engineering at the University of Minnesota Duluth and a principal research engineer at Natural Resources Research Institute at the University of Minnesota. She earned her PhD in environmental engineering from the University of Minnesota Twin Cities to study the fate of organic contaminants in contaminated soils and drinking water distribution systems. Chun’s research integrates fundamental themes in aquatic chemistry and environmental microbiology with a focus on developing solutions for increasingly complex and costly environmental challenges. Her research group is dedicated to bridging the gap from fundamental research to application in collaboration across disciplines and with diverse groups.
