Lisa Martin Rennicke

Lisa Martin Rennicke, PhD, is on the faculty at the University of Minnesota School of Nursing Twin Cities. An enrolled member of the Lac Du Flambeau Band of Lake Superior Chippewa Indians, she is a prominent leader in advancing Indigenous perspectives within nursing education and practice. She serves as a clinical associate professor, is a member of the School of Nursing Foundation Board of Trustees, is on the board of directors of the Indian Health Board of Minneapolis, Inc. and leads the Minnesota Action Coalition an Indigenous-led organization dedicated to improving health equity and healthcare quality through Minnesota. Her work focuses on “Indigenization“—incorporating Indigenous worldviews into nursing to reduce health disparities. She has a background as a public health nurse, clinical educator and nursing supervisor. In August 2024, she was named an IonE associate by the Institute on the Environment, reflecting her interdisciplinary work at the intersection of health and the environment.
