Nathalie Lambrecht is an assistant research professor at the Institute on the Environment. Lambrecht's research focuses on evaluating high-impact solutions—from agroecological practices to institutional food procurement—that promote human nutrition, support planetary health, and build climate resilience within the global food system. Her projects include evaluating the environmental impact and nutritional quality of school and hospital food in the U.S. and Europe, assessing the potential of sustainable agriculture to support healthy school meals and local food systems, and examining how farm diversification can support child and maternal nutrition and climate adaptation in East Africa and South Asia. Her work uses mixed-methods primary data collection, panel datasets, and intervention trials grounded in local knowledge, community-based partnerships, and global collaboration. Lambrecht holds a PhD in nutritional sciences from the University of Michigan and has completed postdoctoral training as a planetary health postdoctoral fellow at Stanford University and within the Climate Change and Health Working Group at the Potsdam Institute for Climate Impact Research in Germany.
