Background & Expertise

Snigdha Nautiyal is a postdoctoral fellow at the Institute on the Environment. Her research focuses on the human and social dimensions of environmental responses, including questions of institutional governance, decision support, stakeholder engagement, communication and knowledge systems at multilateral, national and subnational scales. At IonE, Nautiyal's research focuses primarily on communication of scientific information to decision makers through forecast visualizations and hydrological decision support tools. Another area of research relates to integrated environmental responses for wicked sustainability challenges. 

Nautiyal completed her PhD and MS from Arizona State University where her research looked at pathways for transformative climate and energy governance within the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) and related multilateral and national policy learning and capacity building spaces. In her spare time, she enjoys reading and writing fiction, swimming and doting on her cats.
