Nina Vang
Background & Expertise
Nina Vang (she/her) is the communications program coordinator at the Institute on the Environment. In this role, Vang supports the communications team and the broader institute by creating and maintaining organization-wide resources, leading team relationship development activities, and coordinating the planning for major University-wide events like the Speaking Science and Midwest Carbon Leadership conferences.
Vang completed a Master of Medical Science in Public Health from Lund University in Sweden and a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology/Anthropology and Asian Studies from St. Olaf College in Northfield, Minnesota. She has previous work experience in health promotion, health education, marketing and external relations, spanning across large corporations to small nonprofits and higher education institutions. The running thread through her academic and professional careers has always been to care for and support others with the tools and skills she's developed from her interdisciplinary and cross-sector work.
In her free time, she enjoys baking, running, crocheting, playing tennis, crafting and listening to audio books!
