Background & Expertise

Cody Sheik, PhD, is an associate professor of biology at the Large Lakes Observatory and serves as a board member of the International Association for Great Lakes Research. Prior to joining the faculty at University of Minnesota Duluth, he graduated with a PhD in microbiology from the University of Oklahoma and was a postdoctoral researcher at the University of Michigan. He is also a Kavli fellow. His work holistically studies the microbiology of water and sediments in freshwater systems, both large and small.
