Background & Expertise
Gaston “Chip” Small is a professor at the University of St. Thomas, with appointments in the Biology Department and the Department of Earth, Environment, and Society. He is an ecosystem ecologist and has studied nutrient cycling in ecosystems ranging from tropical rainforests, the Great Lakes and urban gardens. He is a member of the MSP-LTER urban lake research team.
