Background & Expertise

Satoshi Ishii, PhD, has been working at the University of Minnesota since 2015. His research goal is to solve environmental problems by using the power of microbes. His recent research focuses include the bioremediation of inorganic nutrients, especially nitrogen and phosphorus; nitrogen fixing microbes associated with non-legume plants; the response of microbiome to environmental changes; and the ecology of pathogens and antibiotic resistant bacteria.
