Background & Expertise

Since graduating from South Dakota State University with a degree in biology education, Kara Baldwin has been at the intersection of science and education. After spending time teaching in classrooms, state and national parks, and other non-formal learning centers, she continued her education and completed a Masters of Science in Science Education from Oregon State University and her PhD in Biology from Illinois State University. Today, Kara is the Education and Community Engagement Coordinator at Cedar Creek Ecosystem Science Reserve, a biological field station operated by the University of Minnesota’s College of Biological Sciences and enjoys working at a location where her love of science and STEM education overlap.
